Drawings on Found Drawings
I developed a varied style by working over discarded paintings of children combined with the handwriting of an adult when I was a student at Glasgow School of Art. I aim to retain the freshness, inventiveness, and lack of inhibition found in children’s drawings. Like the surrealists I find excitement in playing with found images to transform them by using what is projected onto them from my restless imagination. I have also collaborated with other artists over the years on drawings and prints, including mail art using the ‘exquisite corpse’ technique which I have found a great way to stay connected with artists over time and distance.
