Black Swan Arts have selected ‘After Mary and Martha’s Kitchen’ for the open exhibition this year.
This painting is based on ‘Christ in the House of Martha and Mary’ by Valazquez. In the painting Martha is preparing strawberries that look like love hearts for her partner.
‘After Mary and Martha’s Kitchen’ oil on hardback cover of Enid Blyton’s ‘Book of the Year’. It is encouraging for me to make more small paintings on books. I feel inspired to make work that responds to the contents of this lovely nature book for children.
The exhibition runs from August 8 – September 27.
